Is that yellow airplane on the roof of the restaurant, real? SURE IS…It’s a PIPER TOMAHAWK

Habanero’s is proud of its aeronautics heritage. Our founder, Joe Lange, shared a passion in flying. Being a successful business man, Joe understood the importance of a great eye catcher for his new restaurant. So in 1996 he took the engine out of his own personal Piper Tomahawk plane and had it hoisted on top of our building. What came of Joe’s inspiration was the creator of our mascot, Habey. Habey is known for being the flying pepper. So hence our name Habanero’s Home of the Flying Pepper took off. Each of our staff is considered to be a part of Habey’s Flight Crew and intermixed in the sounds of our restaurant are the sounds of planes flying by.

Did You Know?

How do you make Habanero’s Fire, Fire, Fire salsa?

Now how many restaurants give up their secrets?  Only on this one occasion will we do this.  The secret of our hottest salsa is using the ripest Habanero’s peppers.  Helpful hint: always make salsa at room temperature, refrigerate only when the peppers have blended into the salsa mix for about an hour.  When the peppers are well blended, left out for an hour or so, then refrigerate and enjoy!  Additionally, handling habaneros and certain other peppers can also sting the skin, so wear gloves or have plenty of milk on hand.
